(250429) -- NANJING, April 29, 2025 (Xinhua) -- Kishvarov Amirdzhon (3rd R) studies tuina massage under the guidance of teacher Xu Senlei at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine in Nanjing, east China's Jiangsu Province, April 24, 2025.
Kishvarov Amirdzhon, 29, is from Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. He is currently pursuing a master's degree at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine.
Kishvarov fell in love with Chinese culture, captivated by Chinese martial arts and kung fu stars when he was in middle school. He gave himself the Chinese name Li Xiaolong, which is the same as the Chinese name of kung fu star Bruce Lee.
Kishvarov studied Chinese diligently and participated in the "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students. He later came to China several times and developed a strong connection with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).
In 2015, Kishvarov went to Beijing University of Chinese Medicine to study acupuncture and tuina massage. After graduation, he returned to Dushanbe and opened his own TCM clinic. Many of his patients have become devoted TCM supporters.
In 2023, to further improve himself, Kishvarov came to Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine to pursue a master's degree. Under the guidance of Professor Zhang Jianbin, vice president of Jiangsu Provincial Second Chinese Medicine Hospital, Kishvarov has been studying the modern clinical applications of acupuncture while also researching the development of acupuncture in other countries.
"In the future, I hope to bring TCM to more countries and let more people benefit from it," Kishvarov said. (Xinhua/Ji Chunpeng)
