ISLAMABAD, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Speaker of Pakistan's National Assembly Asad Qaiser on Thursday began a three-day official visit to Afghanistan for talks on bilateral relations, focusing on ways to enhance ties between the parliaments of both countries.
The secretariat of the National Assembly, the lower house of Pakistan's parliament, said in a statement that Qaiser is heading a nine-member delegation including Special Representative of Pakistan for Afghanistan Mohammad Sadiq.
The statement said the Pakistani delegation will hold meetings with Speaker of Wolesi Jirga or the lower house of the Afghan parliament Mir Rahman Rahmani and others.
The visit also aims at exploring the opportunity for a peaceful Afghanistan to ensure regional prosperity, the statement added.
