ISLAMABAD -- A passenger plane of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) crashed on Friday afternoon in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi, local media reported.

TEHRAN -- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Friday called for "resistance" against Israeli pressures on occupied Palestinian territories, according to the leader's official website.
"My main advice is to continue this struggle" against occupation and to better organize the resistant groups inside Palestinian territories, Khamenei said on the occasion of the International Quds (Jerusalem) Day. (Iran-Israel-Palestine)

FAIZABAD, Afghanistan -- Two Afghan soldiers and 14 Taliban militants were killed in a Taliban predawn attack on a military camp in the country's Badakhshan province, an army source confirmed Friday.
"Taliban militants stormed a joint Afghan National Army and Afghan Regional Army's camp in Yaftal-e-Bala district roughly at 1:00 a.m. (local time) Friday. The security forces responded to the attackers and the clashes left the casualties," Hadi Jamal, a press officer of army's 217 Pamir Corps, said in a statement. (Afghanistan-Clashes-Militant)

NEW DELHI -- The Death toll from cyclonic storm Amphan in India's eastern state of West Bengal rose to 80 Friday as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on an aerial tour to review the damage.
"Eighty people died in this cyclone. We have evacuated more than 600,000 people. Time and density of cyclone was worse. It is more than a national disaster," West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee told media. (India-Cyclone-Death)
